health insurance is one of the basics needed by most everyone. State Employees'
Credit Union can assist in meeting this basic member need with choices to help fit

The individual health insurance products available through the Credit Union are as follows:
Individual PPO Health Plan
Blue Advantage ®
One of the state's most popular individual health plans.1
Applicants must be residents of North Carolina, under the age of 65
and not eligible for Medicare.
Offers three plans that allow you to choose the benefits and deductible that
work best for you, with costs as low as $15 copayments and $10 for generic
prescriptions drugs.2
Enrollment processing takes approximately 30 days. All applications are
individually underwritten.
High Deductible Health Plan / Health Savings Account
Blue Options HSA SM
A high-deductible health plan that can cut premium
costs while offering significant tax advantages when paired with a Health
Savings Account.
HSA contributions are tax deductible,
subject to annual limits, regardless of whether deductions are itemized,
with tax-free interest and withdrawals for eligible medical expenses.3
A very competitive Health Savings Account is offered by SECU
and has been available since January, 2005.
Dental
Dental Blue for Individuals SM
Covers checkups and cleanings twice per year with no
deductible for preventive services.
An annual deductible of $75 applies for basic and
major services with 50% coinsurance.
There is an annual maximum benefit of $1,000 for all services.
