The Credit Union offers an energy awareness mortgage for new and existing homes that have received an
ENERGY STAR
rating. To qualify, the home must meet guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency. ENERGY STAR qualified homes are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the
2004 International Residential Code, and include additional energy-saving features that typically make them
20-30% more energy efficient than standard homes. The efficiency will have to be validated by an independent
third party inspector that is trained specifically on the HERS (home energy rating system) guidelines. This is
a 2-Year ARM product with the origination fee capped at $350. Many of our mortgage products now provide an option
for monthly and biweekly repayment schedules at the time of origination.
